Routine / Rutina

Routine / Rutina

Hello everybody :)

So, today's post will be about a more specific thing – finding the routine that suits your skin. What I've learned from numerous blogs is that your routine should consist of:
1. cleanser
2. scrub (once or twice a week)
3. toner
4. (optional) serum
5. mask (once or twice a week)
6. moisturizer

These are the basic steps you need to do every morning to make your skin glow! Find the products that suit your skin, read reviews on different blogs, find bloggers who share your skintype (it's the easiest way to find out which products are better than others!) and hunt for testers!
There should be a bit of a difference between your morning routine and evening one (considering that using stronger cleansers or scrubs is not really suitable for the morning, as well as the fact that you shouldn't wear any makeup while you sleep so there's no need to use makeup remover in the morning).
When it comes to cleanser, I like to use a gentle one in the morning and a stronger one in the evening. The gentle one I use most often is Balea for normal and combination skin (the blue one), but when it comes to stronger ones, I don't really like to use drugstore brands – I prefer Effaclar by La Roche Posay (although, at the moment I have Oriflame's Pure skin and I quite like it).
You should scrub your face at least once a week, depending on your skin type. Oily skin likes to be scrubbed more often, with scrubs that have sand-like structure, while dry and sensitive skin prefers the scrub to be chemical (or, without the particles that ''scrub'' your skin). I've found that Balea cream scrub with aloe vera works the best for me – I use it once a week.
I've only recently started using a toner, mostly because the first one I've bought was Balea and it left my face all sticky. I didn't like the feeling of that so I gave up on toners. But a few weeks ago I've purchased Nivea's refreshing toner (for normal and combination skin) and I've changed my mind about them completely :) I will write reviews of all products I mention and, once I do, I will add links to reviews here ;)
Ah, serums. The magical helpers to any woman :D Serums are amazing if you have any problems with your skin – they work wonders. I'm lucky because my only problem is lack of hydration, but there is a lot of different types of serums (anti-wrinkles, against imperfections, the ones that even out your skin tone, hydrating ones…). The ones I use are Balea Aqua serum and Afrodita Hydra Thermale. As the names suggest, they both provide hydration. Always use your serum before the moisturizer because it is more concentrated and provides a base for the moisturizer to work better!
Masks nourish your face deeply. I don't really use them, I prefer to just use a heavier layer of my everyday cream.
Having done every previous steps, it's time for a moisturizer! Most commonly you have two of them – one for day, one for night. The one you use in the morning should provide you with hydration throughout the day, it should mattify your skin and leave your skin looking healthy! The one I use in the morning is Ziaja natural argan oil. I love Ziaja and you are gonna hear a lot about it! At night, I like to use a bit heavier creams that feed my skin while I sleep. For that I use Oriflame Optimals oxygen boost night cream or Ziaja natural olive cream. Sometimes even the plain old coconut oil. It all depends on how I feel that night.

One step that is not mentioned is cleaning your face from makeup. The newest (and increasingly more popular) cleanser is micellar water – the one I prefer is Ziaja sensitive skin micellar water. However, since I prefer to put accent onto my eyes, I often use Balea Eye makeup remover for waterproof makeup. The problem is that my eyes are very sensitive (because I wear contact lenses) and this Balea makeup remover can sometimes be too harsh for my eyes, it all depends on what kind of day I had. In a case like this, I prefer using Ziaja natural olive cleansing milk.

What is your routine? Do you follow all of these steps or is your routine completely different? :)

Zdravo svima :)

Ah, serumi. Magični pomagači svakoj ženi :D Serumi su odlični ako imate ikakvih problema s kožom – čine čuda. Ja sam jedna od sretnica čiji je jedini problem nedostatak hidratacije, no postoji mnogo različitih vrsta seruma (protiv bora, protiv nesavršenosti, oni koji izjednačavaju boju tena, hidratantni…). Ja koristim Balein Aqua serum i Afrodita Hydra Thermale.
Maske dubinski hrane lice.
Najčešće idu u paru – dnevna i noćna. Ona koju koristite ujutro trebala bi vaše lice održati hidratiziranim tijekom dana, trebala bi vam matirati kožu te dati zdrav izgled! Ja osobno ujutro koristim Ziaja natural argan oil. Ja jako volim Ziaju pa ćete ovdje mnogo čuti o njima! Navečer volim koristiti teže kreme koje hrane kožu dok spavam. Najčešće koristim Oriflame Optimals oxygen boost night cream ili Ziaja natural olive cream. Katkad i najobičnije kokosovo ulje.

Basics / Osnove

Hello everybody :)

First things first, the most important thing is to know your skin type. There are many tutorials all over the Internet which can help you define your skin type. Also, some drugstores often have various promotions which include free skin type testing, so if you catch one of these, good for you :) At home, the easiest way is to wash your face with water and watch for any changes on your face. They are very obvious and you can't go wrong with them!

Dry skin – usually manifests with white flecks over your face, persons with dry face feel as if their skin is a number too small, too stretched.
Oily skin – very obvious. Most of us has it during puberty, the skin secrets too much sebum and that leaves the face oily. The fact that you have oily skin, however, doesn't mean that you shouldn't use face creams, on the contraty, oily skin needs just as much hydration as any other type. A person with oily skin has to find an appropriate mattifying cream.
Combination skin – the most often skin type, combination skin can be a combination of any two skin types – dry and normal, oily and normal, dry and oily, normal and oily.. Most often there is one type on your cheeks and the other over your T-zone. (My skin belongs to this category, it is normal with slightly oily T-zone)
Sensitive skin – can be any skin type. It is manifested by red blotches over your face, tightness, rash… The easiest way to treat such skin is to consult your dermatologist :) every face is individual!
Normal skin – it doesn't mean your skin doesn't need care, it just means it doesn't need to be too nourished and you don't have to mattify it. The most important thing is to keep it hydrated!

Once you find your skin type, the search for adequate care is easy. There are many lines of products in the market, ranging from cheap (but good!) drugstore brands to some more expensive brands that can be found only in pharmacies. In any case, it is desirable to consult your dermatologist if you are not certain of what suits your skin. It is also important to set up a routine which complements your face, determine the amount of caring and cleaning, find products that work well with each other and be persistant in your routine! More about defining your routine in the next post :)

What is your skin type? How did you learn it? Have you found the products that suit your skin? :)

Zdravo svima :)

Najčešće obrazi pripadaju jednom tipu, a t-zona drugom.

Koji je vaš tip kože? Kako ste ga saznale? Jeste li pronašle proizvode koji vašoj koži odgovaraju? :)

Beginning / Početak

Hello, everybody!

I’ve been battling with skin problems for years. I know that most teenage girls can say this, I know I’m not the only one, but I do want to share with you everything I’ve learned over the years. At the moment I am 22 and I’ve been trying out different skincare routines for years now. I’ve visited many blogs, took a lot of advice, tried out many products, and I think I can start sharing some of this “wisdom” with everyone looking for advice. At the beginning, it is important to note that my skin type used to be combination to oily (approximately three years ago) but for the last three years it has been normal to slightly combination and slightly sensitive. This is a type of skin I’ll be focusing on. Another important thing to note is that this isn’t a blog about decorative cosmetics, but about skincare products – both those for your face and for your body. I believe that clean and fresh skin is the most beautiful feature every woman can have. Since the internet is so widely used nowadays, I hope someone will find this useful (so that you don’t have to go through many unnecessary products and expenses). For now, I plan on posting once a week, Thursdays to be precise, and I plan on posting both in Croatian and English. I hope someone will read this!

Zdravo svima!
